Bill is the Principal-in-Charge with the Assurance Group, and concentrates his practice in the areas of financial audits and other attest engagements for our international clients, including advising clients on business improvement and financial processes.

He was formerly the treasurer and accounting manager for a $300 million Japanese-owned automotive supplier where he was on the Board of Directors, and he has worked in “Big Four” accounting firms for more than 13 years in financial audit and middle market consulting.

Bill has lived in Tokyo and Morioka, Japan, Chicago, Louisville, and Ann Arbor. Throughout his career, he has focused on working with manufacturing and distribution companies throughout the Midwest. His goal is to bring a practical business perspective to the financial audits of his clients while helping them achieve their business objectives. His in depth experience in top financial management of a well-respected Tier1/Tier2 automotive supplier has given him tools to make his business advice work. His experience auditing a wide range of companies throughout his career brings a multi-industry depth to that advice.

Bill has experience in a variety of projects which include software selection and evaluation, financial process improvement and implementation, SAP implementation, full scale due diligence and an initial public offering of an SB registrant. This is in addition to audit experience ranging from Fortune 100 manufacturers and distributors to multi-billion dollar pension trusts to entrepreneurial start-up ventures.

Bill has extensive expertise in working for and working with Japanese companies. He has traveled to Japan many times and is fluent in Japanese. His financial management experience and focus on the business has enabled him to act as a trusted advisor to his clients allowing him to bring efficiency improvement and alignment to key business areas. Bill's view of operations and processes has also allowed him to identify areas of significant cost savings in working capital and tax efficiency for clients throughout his career.
