Principal-in-Charge Accountant, Public Sector

Due to continued growth, we're currently seeking a dedicated CPA with 10+ years experience in Public Sector Services, primarily in Illinois, for a newly created position at our firm. You'll assemble a team of Accountants/Consultants and grow CDH's Public Sector Practice providing assurance, financial advisory, tax and consulting services to state and local government organizations. Utilizing CDH's marketing, IT, HR and professional & support staff, you'll be expected to build this area to a profit center within two years.
The position requires a Bachelor's degree, CPA and experience building a revenue pipeline. Experience at a senior manager or principal level, managing and cultivating relationships and driving sales and opportunities for the Public Sector Practice are required. Experience in a supervisory capacity along with strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must.

Principal-in-Charge Forensic Accounting

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting with 8 to 10 years experience in Forensic Accounting and served at a senior manager or principal level.

Senior Accountant Bilingual (Japanese/English) - Audit Department
The Senior Auditor is responsible for the day-to-day audit activities involved with the client engagement including supervising staff and serving as the primary contact with clients; and can provide strategic and tactical business development activities to support the audit team.
Essential Functions
* Assumes overall project management responsibility including budgeting, staffing timely delivery and client satisfaction.
* Serves as the lead on engagement activities: delegates and monitors workloads, reviews engagement performance, provides performance feedbacks and developmental opportunities for staff and in-charge.
* Prepares complex financial statements and financial statement disclosures. Compiles complex audit or attest report, teaches to staff and explains to client, as warranted.
* Applies GAAP and GAAS to complex testing areas, designs and performs audit tests and explains application of professional standards to client and firm employees.
* Assists in planning audits and takes ownership for client engagements; serves as the primary client contact, assists in developing strategies to build client relationships and is responsible for overall client satisfaction.
* Analyzes and recommends improvements to client's systems, work processes, practices and policies. May evaluate and propose solutions for bookkeeping and accounting systems problems/issues. Develops and articulates recommendation for changes in the firm's systems and processes.
* Has the ability to prospect and generate new international client leads.
* Participates in networking opportunities to develop centers of influence and generate new business leads.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Must be fluent in written and spoken Japanese.
* Experience in U.S. and Japanese GAAP, GAAS and SOX, project and client management
* Attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines are essential.

Required Education and Experience:

* Assists in audit planning and research. Researches applicable GAAS and GAAP regulations and ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

* Initiates inquiry of client personnel about accounting practices, ensuring practices are in accordance with GAAP and are being followed. Further responsibilities include summarizing and documenting findings to be reviewed by a supervisor.
* Provides outstanding service to existing and potential clients; communicating effectively with team members and those they are reporting to; maintaining and developing a strong, positive, and visible presence in their community; and developing and maintaining our client relationships and trust.
* May research changes in regulations and share with team members.
