Why did you join CDH?
My overriding factor to join CDH is having the ability to learn and experience a great amount in a short amount of time compared to working at Big 4 firm. When it was stated that last year's workpapers are not "copied" that sold me too!
The number one reason I chose CDH over any other firm is because it seemed like there was great potential for opportunity with this firm. I took into consideration there would be diverse types of clients and different types of projects that I would be exposed to which would allow me to learn more and grow as an accounting professional. I compared this with a job at one of the bigger firms, where the work seemed like it might be more specialized and redundant.
The number one reason I decided to join the team at CDH was due to the different culture I experienced throughout the recruiting process. It was extremely evident that the CDH staff that I met was in fact living up to the mission and values of the company. There was a sense of team and caring that made CDH different from other firms. The other firms I considered were part of the Big 4 where I often felt like a number or insignificant. CDH employees were great during the recruiting process which allowed me to see that all of the values that were talked about were actually instilled. It was minor efforts that helped CDH stand out. For example, after my second interview with CDH I emailed the recruiting team to thank them, they all responded to the email within a day. When I went about the same process with other firms I never heard back from their employees. The employees at CDH gave me a good feeling about the firm’s makeup, which ultimately was my deciding factor.
Factors that I took into consideration for choosing CDH: The firm's vision, work/life balance, friendly working environment, commitment to allow their employees to grow with the firm.During my interview process with CDH, the people I met and talked to were not only very friendly, but also enthusiastic about their work. They gave me good impression about the company they represented.
So what made me choose to be a part of CDH? Well, it is very important for me to be a part of an organization that has high values. I know that many firms try to instill high values to all their employees, but in practice it is not carried out. The recruiter was able to communicate to me a great picture of this firm in the first interview. And in my visit to the office, I was actually able to see what she was talking about. I saw a firm with commitment to integrity along with a good work environment. So it is the fact that I was able to see the firm and confirm what I heard from the recruiter and what I saw on the website that convinced me to join CDH.
