The grass is not always greener on the other side.

I left CDH to pursue what I thought was a better opportunity - especially given the proximity of the new location to my home. However shortly after the change in employment, I realized CDH was the place where I wanted to be.
While my new commute was shorter, I was working longer hours and I didn't have the learning and advancement opportunities that I had at CDH. I was seeing less of my family and missed many dinners with them do to the hourly requirements. Also, I truly missed the “family” atmosphere of CDH. At the other place, the work environment was very stressful and cold - not much interaction or caring amongst the employees. Although there are deadlines here, the stress associated with those deadlines is far less than what was imposed at the other place.
CDH welcomed me back with open arms - it was as if I never left. I'm glad to be back where I belong.
