Prestigious list honors CDH leader’s efforts with Japanese individuals living in the United States

ITASCA, IL (December 17, 2020)— Hikaru (Koh) Fujimoto, Principal and former Managing Principal of CDH, P.C. (CDH), was recognized as one of the 2020 Notable Minorities in Accounting, Consulting & Law by Crain’s Chicago Business.

“I am extremely honored to be acknowledged by Crain’s,” said Fujimoto. “This recognition is a result of our firmwide efforts to expand our international practice.”

At CDH, Fujimoto works with Japanese individuals living in the United States to navigate U.S. inheritance and gift tax laws by utilizing his experience and expertise acquired as a CPA, J.D., MBA and Harvard educated professional.

“As a visionary and a risk-taker, Koh leads by example,” said Lee Arnsman, SPHR, Chief Operating Officer of CDH. “He consistently shares improvement opportunities and examines strategy on how to add value to our clients.”

Fujimoto recently completed a five-year term as Managing Principal of CDH. During this time, he increased revenue by over 80% and opened the firm’s first international office in Japan. He is a founding member of the Nankin Support Center of America, assisting Japanese individuals under the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP). He is also completing his first book, which straightforwardly provides guidance related to financial complexities for Japanese individuals living in the United States.

“Finding this niche market of Japanese individuals within the United States and helping them overcome their challenges of living and moving to this country has been rewarding,” said Fujimoto. “We’re happy to help them reach and achieve their dreams.”

The Notable Minorities in Accounting, Consulting & Law list from Crain’s highlights professionals who have overcome challenges and bias to rise to the top of their fields. These individuals promote diversity within the workplace, mentor young colleagues and give back to their communities, focusing on minority members.
